Has any country's military at anytime used realtree camo?
The US - NO. Canada - NO. Germany - NO. Other countries - doubtful.
Keep in mind that RealTree is a commercial company that is focused on hunting equipment. The material is not of the quality that the military would consider durable under combat conditions nor does it comply with military specifications for light reflectivity, IR absorption, and wear and tear characteristics. RealTree is great for turkey hunting, deer hunting, etc in wooded terrain that matches the pattern mix of the clothing. In this environment, hunters are not crawling through rocks, brush, hot and humid jungle environments, and mud on a daily basis which are abrasive and results in tears in the clothing and breakdown of the fibers and stitches.
That is why all NATO and non-NATO countries are very careful in designing, manufacturing, and purchasing military uniforms based on expected combat environments and the degree of wear of their soldiers or Marines in those environments.
Hope this helps explain why RealTree is not used by the military especially considering that most camoflage patterns are not usually focused on eastern US. Deserts, semi-deserts, jungle, and many other environments require specialized camo patterns that are not produced by RealTree with the durability required for those environments.
