Arrow Head
I have an arrow head in the left hand corner of all my icons on my desk top does anyone know how to remove the
The arrow keys signifies the shortcut and not the actual file so it is not recommended to remove the arrow keys as you may move/copy shortcuts to location where you need to actual file or vice-versa.
This tweak requires editing windows registry, so back up your registry before making any changes.
Click Start, Run and type Regedit.exe
Navigate to the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SOFTWARE Microsoft Windows CurrentVersion Explorer Shell Icons
Backup the key by exporting it to a file
In the right-pane, create a new String value named 29
Double-click 29 and set its Value data as:
C:WindowsSystem32shell32.dll,50
(shell32.dll,50 is a empty icon)
Close Registry Editor.
You might have to restart the computer to bring it into effect.
There is a safer method to do this using a TweakUI tool. You can download the tool from this location.
