Why is a longbow better than a recurve?
I'm just curious. I've always shot recurve but recently i've been told longbows are better.
The longbow is not better than a modern recurve bow... it was better than the recurve bows of it's day. It's also easier for people to make themselves, since it doesn't require as much shaping or laminatng. Due to it's simpler shape, it is also more forgiving when it comes to errors in construction. But the most forgiving, easy to construct bow is the American Longbow, or "American Flatbow."
