Rest Arrow
were does the arrow rest on a longbow if i hold the bow in my left hand and pull the string with my right.?
does it go on the left side of the bow or the right side? im new at archery so i dont know im buying a bow and theres a option for right or left hand shooters, so im waiting for an answer befor i buy it. thank you.
From what you have described your are right handed and will be drawing the bowstring with your right hand. On a longbow or any bow for that matter the arrow rests on the LEFT side of the bow just above the grip for right handed archers like yourself.. Even a longbow usually has a small "L" shaped shelf taped to the bow or held onto the bow by the grip or grip wrapping. This "shelf" is actually an arrow rest for your arrow to sit on as you draw the bow back. I have been shooting a bow my entire life and my
father owned a business that custom built longbows and
manufactured archery equipment for over 45 years. You can count on what I am telling you. You will see this to be the case as you start to shop for your new bow.Needless to say I learned all I know from him and even shot in archery tournaments as a young child into my early twenties.
